April 15 & 16, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, (OMSI), will be hosting a weekend focusing on Russian Rocketry, as a tie-in to the Portland Art Museum's "Stroganoff" exhibit. There will be several activities planned as well as a special panel discussion, hosted by the Oregon L5 Society at 2:00 on Saturday.

- Dr. Mikhael Benikov worked at a Radio Electronic Institute in Kiev which was a subcontractor to many of the larger and more famous space design bureaus of the old USSR, including OKB-1(OKB-Azim or "Design Bureau Number - One") known today as RKK-Energia founded by the legendary Sergei Korolev, chief designer of the world's first satellite launcher, Sputnik-1/R-7, and the folllow-on Vostok and Voskhod missions. However, Benikov was not personally involved with those missions, he was an engineer who designed radar beacons for space re-entry vehicles.
- Dr. Alan Mashinko, Dr. Benikov's translator, a computer scientist and a graduate from one of the top scientific institutions in the former Soviet Union.
- Oregon L5 Society's Charles Radley, Senior Software Quality Engineer at Network Associates Inc, in Beaverton, former aerospace software engineer, and Russian Rocketry expert.
Admission to this talk is open to the public at no cost, and is being held in OMSI's Classroom 1. Dr. Benikov's wife is Dr. Elena Benikov, an Endocrinologist who treated victims of the Chernobyl disaster.
